Do you pay US tariffs on K-beauty in 2026?
What changed in 2026
- July 24: New Section 301 tariffs took effect. In USTR’s notice, products of South Korea that aren’t exempted pay a total of 12.5% when their normal (MFN) duty is lower than that. The product-code exemption lists in that notice do not include HTS 3304 cosmetics; an individual product’s classification and other applicable exceptions still need checking.
- June 24: US Customs (CBP) made the suspension of the $800 de minimis exemption indefinite. Low-value parcels still go through customs entry. The rule for postal shipments took effect July 24.
- February 20: The US Supreme Court held that the IEEPA emergency-powers law does not authorize the President to impose tariffs. CBP notes that the ruling did not address the de minimis suspension.
So a parcel no longer enters duty-free just because it’s under $800, and what you pay depends on the store. YesStyle says it is “working with couriers to pay the tariffs on your behalf.” Stylevana said in a July 30, 2025 notice that the price at checkout is final, with no hidden tariff costs.
If a courier charges you duty on a YesStyle order anyway, pay it, keep the receipt, and send a claim to YesStyle within 30 days of the receipt date. Its Tax Refund Policy covers customs-related taxes and fees on orders under $1,000 (before coupons, excluding shipping), pays you back in YesStyle Credit rather than cash, and doesn’t cover sales tax or courier fees such as storage.
Olive Young US or Olive Young Global?
If you live in one of the 50 states or DC, it’s Olive Young US: Olive Young Global’s site says, “This site does not ship to the U.S. (50 U.S. states & D.C.)” Outside the US, Global is the one to check.
Olive Young US opened physical stores in Pasadena on May 29, 2026 and at Westfield Century City on June 13. Online orders can’t be returned in its stores.
In Korea: the words on the box
If a store’s photos show the back of the Korean box and it says 기능성화장품 (functional cosmetic), or shows the ministry’s logo for it, the product was reviewed by or reported to Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for a specific claim, such as brightening, wrinkle care or UV protection. Korean law puts those words or the logo on the outer packaging, with exceptions for small packages. A US version of the same product may be labeled differently, so check which box the photo shows.
Is what they sell genuine?
To check one product, ask the brand’s customer service whether the store is an authorized seller, and keep the box and receipt if something looks or smells different from the last one. Store statements cover the store, not a single bottle: YesStyle calls itself “the authorized distributor of 400+ Korean brands,” and Stylevana’s About page doesn’t use the words authentic or genuine.
What about Amazon?
We couldn’t check Amazon’s brand store pages for this update, so Amazon isn’t in the table. On an Amazon listing, check who ships the item and who sells it before you buy.

Is shipping free from all three stores?
From $35, yes, but not the same service. YesStyle and Olive Young US make standard shipping free, while Stylevana makes Premium Express free and adds $11 for remote areas. Below $35, Olive Young US charges $6.95 and Stylevana $5.79 for standard shipping.
Can I return an opened product?
YesStyle excludes opened beauty products from returns. For a change-of-mind return, Olive Young US asks for unopened or unused items, and Stylevana for unused items with tags and original packaging. If an Olive Young US or Stylevana item is opened but unused, ask that store before returning it. Damaged or defective items follow separate rules at both.
Will I pay duty when the parcel arrives?
YesStyle says it pays US tariffs through its couriers, and Stylevana said in 2025 that its checkout price is final. If a courier still charges you on a YesStyle order, claim it within 30 days of the receipt date. The rules changed in February, June and July 2026.
Can I order from Olive Young Global if I live in the US?
No. Its site says it does not ship to the 50 US states or DC.
