When did Olive Young split into two sites?
Olive Young opened its US-only online store on May 29, 2026, the same day its first US store opened in Pasadena, California. Korea JoongAng Daily had reported the plan in April as “a U.S.-dedicated standalone commerce platform in May.” Its second US store, at Westfield Century City in Los Angeles, opened on June 13.
Olive Young’s April 24 notice, preserved on Milled, announced that Global’s US shipping would end with the May 29, 2026 US launch. Global’s site now says it doesn’t ship to the 50 states or DC.
The move also lowered the free-shipping line for US shoppers. Korean business daily Ajunews reported that it went from $60 on the Global site to $35 on the US site.
In Korea: why a separate US store
Ajunews reported on May 29, 2026 that more than half of the Global site’s sales came from the US (절반 이상이 미국에서 발생), that US orders had taken an average of five to seven business days on the Global site, and that a new logistics center in Bloomington, California handles deliveries for the US-only store (미국 전용 온라인몰 배송을 전담한다). Olive Young’s own announcement of that center says it localizes “inventory management and fulfillment operations in California.”
What happened to Global accounts, coupons and points?
The notice, preserved on Milled, says Global coupons can’t be used at Olive Young US. It offered transfers of existing account information and points for a limited period, without giving an end date. Ask US customer service whether a transfer is still available.
Olive Young’s May 2026 press release also announced “O.Y Members’ Week” for the first seven days of each month from July. Check the US site for whether it is still running.
Can you return an online order at an Olive Young US store?
No. Olive Young US says online orders can’t be returned in its stores. A change-of-mind return goes through its online returns process within 30 days of delivery, for unopened or unused items, with return shipping on you. Damaged or defective items are handled separately after a review.
Live outside the US?
Check that your destination is in Global’s shipping list, then check its free-shipping threshold and delivery estimate. Its Shipping page says tax or duty may also be due on delivery, so checkout may not show the full cost. Puerto Rico and Guam were both in the shipping menu when we checked on November 3, 2026.
